Irene Mittelberg:
since October 2006 Lecturer, Applied Linguistics, European University Viadrina,
Frankfurt (Oder). Ph.D. in Linguistics and Cognitive Studies (2006, Cornell
University), M.A. in General Linguistics (2000, Cornell University), M.A. in
French Linguistics and Art History (1996, University of Hamburg).
Research interests: semiotics (R. Jakobson, C.S. Peirce), metaphor and metonymy
in multimodal communication (text & image, speech & gesture), cognitive-functionalist
linguistics, political iconography.
